Terms of Use
Please read these Terms of Use carefully before accessing Donate Car For Veterans. By using our website and services, you agree to be legally bound by these terms.
Effective Date: March 29, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing, browsing, or using Donate Car For Veterans (including our website, mobile application, and related services), you ("User" or "you") acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of such modifications.
2. About Our Service
Donate Car For Veterans is an independent vehicle donation marketing service operated by Patriotic Hearts. Our service provides a convenient platform to connect vehicle donors with Patriotic Hearts's donation program.
Important Disclosure:
Donate Car For Veterans IS NOT Patriotic Hearts. We are a marketing partner that facilitates lead generation for Patriotic Hearts's vehicle donation program. When you submit your information through our platform, your inquiry and phone number are forwarded to Patriotic Hearts's qualified donation specialists who will contact you to discuss your vehicle donation and answer your questions. Patriotic Hearts is the registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization that ultimately processes your vehicle donation.
Our role is to provide information about the vehicle donation process, help you complete your initial inquiry, and connect you with Patriotic Hearts's team. All donation processing, tax documentation, vehicle pickup coordination, and final sale or charitable use of the vehicle are handled directly by Patriotic Hearts.
3. Donation Process
The vehicle donation process through our platform works as follows:
- You complete our online donation inquiry form with your vehicle and contact information
- Your inquiry is forwarded to Patriotic Hearts's donation specialists
- A specialist will contact you by phone to discuss your vehicle details, donation intent, and answer questions
- If you decide to proceed, Patriotic Hearts arranges a convenient pickup time at no cost to you
- Upon pickup, you will receive documentation for tax deduction purposes
- The vehicle is either used in Patriotic Hearts's programs to support veterans or sold at auction, with proceeds supporting the organization's mission
Vehicle Requirements:
Acceptable vehicles for donation generally include cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, boats, and other vehicles in any condition—running or not. The vehicle must have a clear title or be subject to a lien that Patriotic Hearts can satisfy. Vehicles with outstanding loans, significant mechanical issues, or unclear ownership may require additional documentation or may not be eligible for donation. Patriotic Hearts will determine eligibility during the phone consultation.
4. Vehicle Ownership & Authority
By submitting a vehicle for donation, you represent, warrant, and certify that:
- You are the legal owner of the vehicle or have been granted written authority by the legal owner to donate the vehicle
- You have the full right and authority to transfer ownership and title of the vehicle to Patriotic Hearts
- The vehicle is not subject to any outstanding loans, liens, or encumbrances, except as disclosed to Patriotic Hearts
- You have the authority and will comply with all state, local, and federal laws regarding vehicle title transfer
- All information you provide is accurate, truthful, and complete to the best of your knowledge
You agree to cooperate fully with Patriotic Hearts in transferring title, providing necessary documentation, and completing any required paperwork. Failure to provide accurate ownership information or necessary title documentation may prevent your donation from being processed.
5. Tax Deductions
IMPORTANT: The following is general information only and NOT individual tax advice. Tax laws are complex and your specific tax situation is unique.
Donate Car For Veterans and Patriotic Hearts do not provide tax, accounting, or legal advice. You must consult with a qualified tax professional, accountant, or attorney regarding the tax deductibility of your vehicle donation. Tax deductibility depends on many factors including your tax filing status, income level, and the specific vehicle donation transaction.
General Information About Vehicle Donation Tax Deductions:
- Patriotic Hearts is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, which means donations may be tax-deductible under Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code
- The amount of your tax deduction is generally based on the fair market value of the vehicle at the time of donation, or the gross proceeds from the vehicle's sale, whichever is lower
- Tax deduction amounts are governed entirely by IRS rules and regulations, which are complex and subject to change
- If Patriotic Hearts sells the vehicle at auction, your deduction may be based on the actual sale price, not the vehicle's pre-donation value
- You are responsible for substantiating your tax deduction claim with proper documentation from Patriotic Hearts. IRS Form 1098-C will be provided for qualifying donations
- Overvaluing your vehicle donation or claiming inflated deductions is illegal tax fraud
You acknowledge that no one has promised you any specific tax deduction amount. Your actual deduction will depend on your unique tax situation, the vehicle's final disposition, and applicable IRS rules. We strongly recommend consulting a tax professional before claiming any vehicle donation deduction on your tax return.
6. No Guarantees
Except as expressly stated in these Terms, Donate Car For Veterans and Patriotic Hearts make no guarantees regarding:
- Any specific amount of tax deduction for your donation
- The specific timing of vehicle pickup (though we aim for convenience)
- The vehicle's resale value or final price at auction
- How the vehicle will ultimately be used (donation vs. sale)
- The timeliness of receiving tax documentation
- Receipt of any monetary benefit, tax refund, or financial advantage
- The success or failure of your donation application
Vehicle donations are processed on a case-by-case basis. Patriotic Hearts reserves the right to decline any vehicle donation that does not meet eligibility requirements or poses safety or logistical concerns.
